Our Managing Dementia in Primary Care Training package is designed to support primary care teams in delivering the best quality care to patients with dementia and their carers.
Dementia is a hugely important topic as it's becoming more common in our communities so together with practice staff we need to develop services to tackle this problem.
The training package has been produced with the help of the Alzheimer’s Society and many others and is an online version of the content which was distributed to all Practice Managers in Wales courtesy of the Business Service Centres (BSCs) in November 2013.
The BSCs' package contained the ‘Managing Dementia in Primary Care’ DVD and a hard copy of the Facilitators Workbook but you can also find this content on the following links on our website:
The core training lasts for 2 hours and is aimed at the whole practice with an additional training section for clinical staff on Advance Care Planning and End of Life Care which takes an additional 15 minutes.
Over the course of the coming weeks we'll be producing a series of blog posts highlight each of our dementia training sections so please keep an eye on our News & Events section for updates.
